SOUTH-EAST GOVERNORS TO MEET OVER BIAFRA IN ENUGU

Owerri – Governors of States in the South-East, National Assembly members from the zone and the leadership of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo have agreed to meet in Enugu on Sunday over agitation for Biafra.
This is contained in a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to Imo state Governor, Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, and made available to newsmen in Owerri on Friday.
The statement said the meeting was in continuation of the governors’ earlier deliberations on how to resolve the issue of the pro-Biafra protests.
“It is also on the demand by the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), which had gained momentum in recent times.
“The meeting is slated for noon at Government House, Enugu.’’
It explained that the governors had met on Tuesday. “The meeting was presided over by Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo where they all sued for peace.’’
